About the Vigilis Shrub Shelter
The Vigilis Shrub Shelter exists because a standard tree tube is the wrong shape for a large part of what actually gets planted. Hawthorn, blackthorn, hazel, dogwood, guelder rose and most hedgerow transplants are bushy and multi-stemmed, and forcing them into a 73–110mm tube either damages the side shoots or produces a drawn, single-stemmed plant that is not what the scheme wanted.

The shrub shelter solves that with a much wider diameter — 130–160mm as standard, and 160–200mm in the XL version — so the whole plant sits inside the shelter with its natural form intact while still being protected from rabbits and hares. It is the right specification for hedgerow planting, for the shrub component of a mixed woodland mix, and for amenity and conservation schemes with a significant understorey.
Specify 60cm for rabbits and 75cm where hares are present. Choose the XL diameter where the transplants are larger or particularly bushy at planting, or where the species is a vigorous spreader in its first seasons. Shelters nest for transport and are supplied with releasable cable ties.
