About the Vigilis Tree Shelter

The Vigilis Tree Shelter is the standard twin-walled tube used across forestry, woodland creation, farm and estate planting and amenity schemes. The twin-wall construction gives the rigidity to stand through the establishment years without staking failure, while the enclosed environment inside the tube raises humidity and shelters the leader, producing noticeably faster early height growth than an unprotected transplant.

An integrated laser line runs the length of the tube so it can be opened and removed cleanly when the tree has outgrown it, without cutting into the stem. Shelters nest in fives, which keeps pallet and transport volumes down and makes distribution around a planting site much quicker than handling loose tubes.

Specify the height against the browsing pressure on site: 60cm for rabbits and hares, 1.2m for roe deer, and 1.5m to 1.8m where fallow, sika or red deer are present. Where voles are also a problem, fit a vole guard at the base inside the shelter. On exposed or windy sites consider the vented version instead, which increases airflow and hardens the tree off as it grows.

Tell us the quantities and heights you need, or send your plant schedule and we will quote plants and protection together. We reply within one working day.
