About the Vigilis VentAir Tree Shelter

The Vigilis VentAir Tree Shelter is the vented version of the standard twin-walled tube. Perforations through the upper sections let air move through the shelter, which lowers the humidity and temperature inside it compared with a solid tube.

The practical effect is a sturdier, better-hardened tree. Inside a fully solid shelter some species produce soft, drawn growth that can struggle when the tube is eventually removed and the stem meets full wind exposure for the first time. Venting narrows that gap, so the tree transitions out of the shelter with a stem that has already experienced some movement and a canopy that has already hardened off.

Specify VentAir on exposed, windy or upland sites, on southerly aspects where heat build-up inside a solid tube is a concern, and for species that are known to draw. Everything else matches the standard shelter — the same heights, the same 73–110mm stem range, the same twin-wall construction and the same nesting in fives — so it can be substituted into a scheme without any other change.
